Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto

Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto (b. 21 Nov 1958 – d. 18 July 1985), was the youngest child of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He played an active role with his brother, Mir Murtaza, in their international campaign to prevent the execution of his father. He was an outspoken critic of the military dictatorship of Zia-ul-Haq and sought to continue his family’s vision for democracy and progress in Pakistan. Tragically, in 1985, Shahnawaz Bhutto’s life was cut short at the age of 26. While living in exile in France, he was murdered by the Pakistan military through poisoning. Shahnawaz is remembered as a youthful, joyous figure in the Bhutto family, who had great passion for weightlifting, music, and sports.
